Snack #3- Blair's Death Rain Cheddar Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

Blair's Death Rain Cheddar Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

These chips are not very good, put plain and simple. Now, the packaging does say "medium" heat, so we weren't expecting them to be the hottest chips on the shelf, but the cheddar flavor left a lot to be desired. The initial flavor was mostly cheesy, and though the heat built up cumulatively when many chips were eaten, the cheese flavor followed all the way through. And when we say "cheese" flavor, we mean artificial poison nacho cheese flavor that was basically juse disgusting. The chip itself was very thick and crunchy, which was nice, but the cheese flavor ruins the chip.

Rating on the Spice-O-Meter: 6/10

Bottom Line: Nasty cheese taste makes it not worth waiting for the heat

Snack #2- Uncle Ray's HOT Flavored Potato Chips

Uncle Ray's HOT Flavored Potato Chips

These chips start out fairly mild in flavor with a slight kick. The smoky barbeque flavor is a bit sweet, with an afterburn that builds in the back of the throat but never gets very hot. The really nice part about these chips is the texture. They are extremely thin, almost to the point of melting in your mouth, with a pleasant crispiness.

Rating on the Spice-O-Meter: 4/10
Bottom Line: Very nice crispiness but lower on the heat scale.

Snack #1- Jays XTRA HOT STUFF Ridged Potato Chips

Jays XTRA HOT STUFF Ridged Potato Chips

This chip has an initial flavor that is very sweet and smoky barbeque, but don't let that throw you off. The afterburn is pure back-of-the-throat burn. The heat sneaks up after the initial smoky flavor but thankfully quickly subsides. The crunchy ridges make room for more flavor, a stronger kick of hotness. Overall a tasty chip that is easy to eat because the short duration of the burn allows for faster consumption without cumulative heat.

Rating on the Spice-O-Meter: 7/10

Bottom Line: Sneaky heat that doesn't last.

Trust me, we feel sick now. Do not test seven bags of snacks in one hour. True story. Also- notice the milk. Milk is very necessary. But unfortunately adds to the stomach discomfort.
